Boat Safety Inspection

 

The following is the Benning Bass Club’s Safety Checklist.

 

The inspection is to be conducted by the Non-boater (partner) for each club tournament and a report rendered to the designated Tournament Committee member that the boat is safe to fish.

 

          (   ) Prior to launch – Insure the drain plug is installed

 

          (   ) Navigation Lights, installed and operational

 

          (   )  Kill switch – Functional and attached to the operators PFD

 

          (   )  PFD’s (Life Vests), USCG approved – Type I, II, III fits and can

                  zippered, hooked and/or snapped secure.

 

          (   )  Fire Extinguisher, Type B, C or A, B, C is it in the green?

 

          (   )  Bilge pump(s), is sump free of litter; turn pump(s) on – is it

                  running?

 

          (   )  Throwable floation, know the location

 

          (   )  Sounding device, is it operational?

 

          (   )  Live wells, are they clean and operational?

 

IF ANY ITEM ON THE LIST IS A “NO-GO”, DON’T FISH!!!
